A simple Android game for little hands

Tap, trail and glow.

GlowPebbles turns every touch into gentle colour, movement and sound. It is made for calm, shared play, and works entirely offline.

It runs on Android devices going back more than 10 years, making it an ideal way to repurpose older hardware.

Ways to play

A different kind of calm for every moment.

Visual play styles and sound styles can be combined, so you can find a gentle setup that suits your child and device.

01

Basic

Soft fading trails without temporary shapes - simple, colourful and uncluttered.

02

Shapes

Bubbles, hearts, smiles, stars, letters and numbers bloom around each touch.

03

Slow ripples

Gentle expanding rings replace trails and shapes for a quieter visual experience.

04

Drawing

Every active finger paints a persistent trail with an easy button to clear the canvas.

Sound

Chimes, nursery rhymes and Piano

Choose gentle random chimes, familiar nursery-rhyme melodies, or a full-screen Piano keyboard. Piano works over every visual play style, supports swipes and chords, and remains visible when sound is muted.

Settings

Change the visual style, monitor the playtime, or set a limit

Change the colour scheme, trail size, and other preferences. Track how long your child is playing, or set a time limit for play sessions.

A few useful answers

Contact support
How do I open Settings?

Hold one finger in each top corner for three continuous seconds. Moving or lifting either finger cancels the gesture.

How do I leave the game?

Open Settings, then hold Hold to exit for two seconds. If screen pinning is active, Android may also ask for your usual unpin action or device PIN.

How does Piano work?

Choose Piano under sound style. It adds a full-screen keyboard over Basic, Shapes, Slow ripples, or Drawing. Tap keys, slide between them, or play up to five notes together.

Why does Android ask about screen pinning?

Screen pinning helps keep GlowPebbles in front during play and prevents accidentally opening swipe menus. Android controls how pinning is enabled and disabled; the wording varies by device.

The animation feels slow. What can I try?

In Settings, open Visuals and select the Low performance preset. Basic and Slow ripples are also less demanding on older hardware.

What can I run GlowPebbles on?

GlowPebbles supports Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and newer, so it can run on some surprisingly old phones and tablets.

For example, devices from as far back as 2013–2014 such as the Nexus 7 (2013), Samsung Galaxy Tab S and Sony Xperia Tablet Z were available with updates to a supported Android version.

This wide compatibility is deliberate: an old phone or tablet that is no longer much use for everyday apps may still make a great dedicated GlowPebbles device.
